The Only Way Is Kernow Fashion Show!

In October we worked with 2 other salons to create a night of amazing hair, fashion, dance and music to entertain more than 300 local people! The event was held at Richard Lander School. With the help of Enjoy Clothing, Phase Eight, Limelight Costume Hire, Dorothy Perkins and Benetton menswear, local models walked the catwalk in style. Of course we gave them all fantastic hair to finish the looks! We held a raffel, and auction which included a wheel barrow of booze and Man U box tickets! The whole evening raised around £2500 which was split between 4 charities, LARF Cornwall, Cornish Hospice Care, Ella's Memory and Cancer Research UK. Thanks to all our staff and the support from everyone involved.

Together team Mamouchi and team Marzipan spent a day at Go Ape, a tree top adventure just outside Exeter. We climbed, zip-wired, laughed, screamed and completed the course in a respectable time! Well done us!

Hannah and model Luke took part in the final of a Nationwide competition! We won the Southern regional final in May which secured us a place at Tribe, Redken's biggest event of the year. Although we didn't win we had such a fantastic time and enjoyed every second!

Fantastic charity show!

Mamouchi and Marzipan took part in a charity event on Thursday 25th August. The show included fashion, dance, singing from Paije Richardson from 2010's X-Factor and hair styles from US! It was fantastic and all for a great cause! Many thanks to the team, models and everyone who came along.

Mamouchi complete Dance-a-thon!

Mamouchi girls danced the night away for a mini dance-a-thon raising money for Children's Hospice and LARF. Vertigo kindly allowed us to hold the event in their bar using the dance floor and a top rated DJ to keep the tunes flowing all night.
It started at 9pm and continued until 1am although we could have kept going all night! Mamouchi team dressed up with goofy glasses along with crazy dance routines whilst Vertigo worked the hot pink look to stand out in the dancing crowd.
Together we raised £390. We are so thrilled to have raised this money for two charities so close to our hearts not to mention having a fab night in doing so! Look out for more charity events from Mamouchi Hair Salon later this year.

Mamouchi win Redken Regional NYC Hair Awards 2011!

At the start of the year Hannah created a male total look, including colour, hair cut and clothes. With the help of photographer Jodie Slinger we captured a picture to enhance our look. We sent our entry off which included before and after pictures, a mood board and 250 words on where our inspiration came from.
In April we found out we had made it to the regional finals! The Southern region includes salons in London down to Penzance. We were in the top 5 of the Southern finalists.
Next it was time to travel with our models to London, meet the judges, re-create the looks and get interviewed to decide on the winner. Judges included Lee Stafford, Angelo Seminara-current hairdresser of the year and other key figures in our industry.
On Wednesday 18th we headed to The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden for Hannah and model Luke to compete in the Southern final. After a day of backstage preparation we watched the live shows and Luke worked it on stage in front of the crowd of around 600 people. Lee Stafford announced the results and..........................WE WON! We were so excited and now we are through to the grand final in September at The Brixton Academy, London.

Whatever the outcome we have had such an amazing time and enjoyed every second. Many thanks to our gorgeous model!

REDKEN HOSTS A NATIONWIDE BLOWDRY BOOTCAMP!

Hannah entered the Redken NYC Hair Awards. She got through to the Southern finals and on Monday 18th April travelled to London for judging. She had to recreate the look on her model Luke, then go through to get judged by Lee Stafford, British Hairdresser of the Year Angelo Seminara and many more. It's now in the hands of the judges. We find out the results in May.

International hair stylist Dennis Rombout and artistic team held a show at the Alverton Manor in Truro, Cornwall. The preparation work took place in our sister salon Marzipan which meant team members from both salons were able to assist throughout the afternoon. We enjoyed learning new techniques and watching complete transformations on their 12 models.

Tracey holds a shoe and bag sale for charity

On Saturday 9th April Tracey organised a shoe and bag sale to help raise money for Cornwall Hospice Care and LARF. The Office Night club kindly offered to be the venue. There was a fantastic turnout and over £850 was raised! Well done to all involved and many thanks for all donations.

Blow Dry Bootcamp!

We held a bootcamp for our customers who needed new ideas and tips on styling their own hair. All staff gave their time to pass on their skills which raised £264 for charity. Everyone left with a goody bag and a new look.

The Christmas Eve Wedding!

To celebrate Christmas Eve the team decided to work as a wedding party! Obviously the bride would be Tracey, Chantel was the groom, Sophie was the Vicar and the rest of the girls came as bridesmaids and guests.
